So this is like my 3rd time trying to write this email so it may be a little shorter than I was gonna make it because I'm so fed up and about ready to call it quits so bear with me. Also I can't wait to have an IPhone when i get back
Wah gwan y'all. It's been a week for sure. Not too much has happened but there's
been a couple of things things that are worth mentioning:
We
had exchanges this week with Old Harbor so i got to spend the day with
Elded McRae. He's a dope dude and we had lots of fun which Include:
blowing up a toilet(hmu for details), taking 2 tries to make pizza
because we couldn't get the water ratio down, walking for almost 7 hours
straight, talking to lots of school kids that are very intrigued with
white people, getting weed bracelets, and watching gospel videos while
eating ice cream and brownies. 10/10 recommend. My comp is the district
leader so I'll probably have more stories to tell about exchanges this
transfer
We had lots of
phone lessons, which kinda suck, but we also had a couple of in person
lessons which are a lot better because it's already hard enough to
understand what Jamaicans are trying to say, then add in crappy phones
and 3rd world country reception and it's a mess.
We
played a lot of monopoly. Before this last week I don't think I've ever
finished a full game. But now I've finished like 5 games and I've even
won one. It's a ritual now now we play every Sunday night for P-Day
eve.
The music here is
starting to grow on me. If y'all have time look up "keep up" by Jashii
and "Dela move" by Chronixx. Let me know what y'all think I'm curious.
All I know is that I'm excited to lift to that stuff in 23 months.
Elder
Stone has been sick a lot these past couple days so the second half of
the week has consisted of lots of naps and playing with Elder Hafens
rubix cubes and Kendama.
Original Monsters are better here than in the states. They're sweeter and I'm kinda sad I've been missing out on these.
Spiritual thought:
I
read in Alma 17&18 this week where it talks about Ammon and King
Lamoni. Ammon is kinda a huge inspiration for me. The people in King
Lamoni's city weren't very righteous and Instead of yelling at all of
them to repent he served and showed them Christlike love. It helps me
out here in Jamaica because I can't understand what they're saying about
half the time, and maybe it's just me but it's kinda hard to love
people if you don't know what the Frick they're saying. I'm striving to
be like Ammon everyday out here. I invite y'all to try to find ways to
serve this week. I expect to hear back on what y'all did too.
