Ya Mon

Super busy and packed week, but a good one.

Highlights:
- Did a bunch of driving around to prepare for an Emergency Transfer we had for missionaries leaving, and for one that's getting reassigned. I had to drive by myself for the first time in 18 months, and it honestly wasn't as weird as I thought it would be. Can't wait for those late night drives again.

- I had to say goodbye to some of the goats of the JKM. Manners and Respect to all of them

- We had a really good MLC. President Britton knows wah gwan and what he wants to do with the mission. I'm excited to see what he does for the next 3 years.

- Went on an exchange with one of my old companions about 7 or so months ago, Elder Gordon. We had some good talks and reminisced on some of the old times.

- Our friend, Veron Sutherland, got baptized this last Sunday! It was actually crazy. My first rasta that I've been able to be apart of the baptism. Before someone gets baptized, they have to be taught  100% of the gospel principles. At the beginning of the week, he was at 41%. The Lord pulled through and we got her done. One of the recent converts, Michael Stanbury, got to do his first baptism, and it was amazing. We practiced with him the day before, teaching him what to say, and how to hold the people, and he killed it. Literally the smoothest baptism I've seen that wasn't done by an Elders Quorum president that's been in the church for 20+ years. We also forgot to tell Bro Sutherland to bring an extra pair of underwear. I'm pretty sure he went commando for the 2 hours of the actual church service because he was holding his sopping wet boxers the whole time.

- Spent 4 hours buying plane tickets for the off island district that's coming in next week. You won't see me being a travel agent anytime soon.

- Shoutout Elder Block for buying me lunch today. He's the homie fi true.

- Got TGI Fridays. We almost bought more stuff than we had money for, and ended up scrounging up all of our 50 and 100 Dollar bills. For those Americans that read this email, that's like using 50 cent coins and 1 dollar bills to pay for your olive garden. We had a hard time looking at the lady while she counted all of this.

Spiritual thought:
I read 2 Nephi 9:18 this week and it really stood out to me. Recently, one of my grandparents passed away and it brought me a lot of comfort knowing that if we can withstand the world's crosses, and follow Christ through it all, that we can all receive the blessings the Father has to offer us.

Big up yuhselves,
Elder Turnbow
