Wah ya dayah pon me generals. It's been a week for sure. It's probably been the shortest and longest week of my life. It's also definitely been the most fulfilling. We've met so many people that have so much potential this week It's not even funny. Our teaching pool just keeps on getting better and better. More motivation to keep working hard comes along with it. Everybody, including me, has been quite slothful with getting up and out of bed in the mornings, and I think that waking up and actually getting out of bed at 6:30 has definitely been a reason on why we've been doing so good this week. The Lord loves obedient servants!
Ms. Dixon is getting
baptized this week! She was able to come to a baptism this last Saturday
that the other Elders in Portmore had, and it was a really good
experience for sure. The spirit was so strong and it was amazing. Me and
Elder Stone had to give a little Restoration lesson during it, and that
was crazy amazing. I had memorized Joseph's own words for the first
vision so I could say it during the lesson, and the spirit was just that
much stronger when I was able to recite it with the power of the
Spirit. Ms Dixon also brought her husband to church yesterday and it was
probably the best week for him to come. We had fast and testimony
meeting and a fire Elders Quorum lesson which let the spirit in so
easily and powerfully. Keep Mr Dixon in your prayers that he may realize
the truthfulness of the message we share so he'll have a desire to be
baptized!!
Miracle of the week:
Like
I've mentioned previously, Elder Stone and I have a truck now, which
makes it super easy to go and street contact in places we wouldn't go to
before because they were they either too far away, or just inconvenient
to get to. So we went to this little historic site about Pirates and
sunken islands or something along those lines. We were able to meet this
guy that had been looking for a digital copy of the Book of Mormon but
couldn't find it. We gave him a copy and talked to him for like an hour
and a half about it. He loves how it works hand and hand in the Bible
and has the same teachings. He also told us cool stories about visions
his mom had about seeing angels that fall in line with doctrine in the
D&C! God is real!
Highlights of the week:
Singing Karaoke with a family in the ward. Text me on messenger if ya want the videos.
Making members cry
Getting chicken bakes
Baptisms
Talking to people higher than a kite Is always fun
Spiritual thought:
This
last week we had zone conference and Holy cow it was a banger. I hadn't
felt the spirit that strong since the MTC almost 2 months ago. We
talked about repentance and conversion and the similarities and
differences between them. Basically it all gets summed up into Alma 5.
I've been studying that the past week and I've been having some amazing
personal studies from it! Truly has made me rethink how I live life and
how I want to live my life back home in 21 months. I definitely
recommend y'all read it
Big up pon yuhselves,
Elder Turnbow
