1st week in MoBay

Mobay is the promised land. End of story, might as well end the email here. Just kidding but actually Montego Bay is so dope. I've had a fire week and I can only imagine it goes up from here.

Montego Bay is one of the more touristy cities on the island. That being said, I've  seen more white people in public in the last week than in the last 5 months. Most of them are on the beach, because there are actual good beaches here compared the nasty one in Portmore. Needless to say, there should be some pretty dope pictures at the bottom of this email. Feel free to skip ahead if you don't love me. The work also progresses a lot faster here naturally because there a lot more people here. It's kinda crazy considering that we have a branch here instead of a ward. We've been having way more success than I thought we would've on the first week opening an area. We had a miracle yesterday of having one of the guys weve barely taught anything to show up to church yesterday, and he read a little bit in the Book of Mormon as well. I'm thoroughly convinced that if I don't mess it up, that this guy will get baptized. Not too many people keep 1 commitment, let alone 2 in less than 24 hours. There's so much potential to do so much work here.

Even though we don't have a bulk shopping center, we have found some fire places to shop. A member came in clutch and told us about a shop that sells chicken for super cheap. Needless to say we bought 11lbs of chicken for 4k jamaican. Which is a crazy deal, and unheard of out here. I will be abusing this as long as I'm serving here.

If you can't tell, I'm absolutely in love with this place, and I hope I stay here for the rest of my mission.

Testimony of the week:
The Book of Mormon is the best thing on this planet. It says in the intro that a man can get closer to God by reading it, and abiding by its precepts than by any other book. I know for a fact that this promise is absolutely correct. As I've put in the work to read the Book of Mormon I've definitely become closer to my Lord and Savior. It has power and I promise all of you, that if you put in the effort, that you can grow closer to your Savior and receive the blessings acquainted with it.

Big up yuhselves,
Elder Turnbow
