Bye bye Portmore

Well well well here we are again. Monumental day for Elder Turnbow out here in Jamaica. Twas my last week in Portmore. I'm now driving in to my new area, Montego Bay, where I will be opening up a second set of Elders there while culture training an Elder new to Jamaica as well. His names Elder Starling and he's an absolute dawg. Itll be a blast out there for sure. Anyways now for the rest of our regularly scheduled email.

My last week in Portmore was solid. I said goodbye to the Dixons. I've apparently been teaching them for close to 4 months now which is absolutely crazy. I bore my heart out to Mr. Dixon, hoping that he'll have a desire to come unto Christ and be baptized. It seemed to be futile in the moment, but I have hope for the future.

I have been telling the Elders in my quad for a while now that if I stayed in Portmore another transfer then I'd shave my entire head with a 1. They decided to take advantage of this when transfer news came. While I was on an exchange the day before, they called the zone leaders and told them to prank me and say I was staying. I'd say they got me preyty good. I genuinely feared my life for a couple minutes before they told me I was getting pranked. If ya want to see the video join the vlogs down below lol

Spiritual thought:
I wanted to take a minute to talk about patience. President basically told me a couple weeks ago that I would be leaving this transfer. I'm going to be honest, I was pretty excited. I had to remind myself constantly that I had to focus on the work at hand. Since I was able to slow down and be patient and finish out the transfer, I was recently able to have one of the best weeks of my entire mission. We worked hard and got done everything we had hoped and wanted to.
