The sister saga

Wah gwan me generals, it's been another week out here in Mandeville. Instead, this time it's pretty solid. I'm not majorly depressed or anything anymore, just a little depressed, but that's the mission for you.

First highlight this week was doing service for Sis. Dixon. She raises about 50 chickens for about 6 weeks, then cuts their heads off, plucks the feathers, Guts them, and sells them for a pretty good deal. Needless to say, we all had a pretty good time cutting heads off and plucking feathers. It wasn't nearly as bloody as I thought it was going to be either. The senior couple in my area got a hoot out of it too, and took a super long video of the whole process. The video of me cutting a head off got ruined, but there are more chickens that are gonna be ready to kill in a couple of weeks. If you love me, and actually read these, you'll stay tuned for that email.

I went on an exchange this last week as well to an area near mine called May Pen. It's fun to go on exchanges now since I'm not going every week for almost 5 months straight. I went with my boy Elder Jensen. He's kinda getting to be an old fart, and my mom's been stalking his blog basically ever since I got my call, so it was cool to finally get to know him. Everybody claims he's the next AP, and I can see why. He has a genuine care for the work, our Savior, and helping missionaries be the best they can. I learned a lot that I'll hopefully keep for the rest of my mission.

We has the pleasure of getting called on to make a Facebook post as well. The topic was "The Restored Gospel", which is cool, but it's like super hard when you're uncreative, like myself to find a good idea with such a broad topic. However, we spent a good chunk of our proselyting hours yesterday figuring it out and taking some pics for it. I'll include some of my favorites below. If you can guess what the line is, I'll give you a hug when I get home.

I hit 6 months on my mission yesterday! It's crazy to think that I've been serving for that long. A part of me is amazed that I've made it this far. Honestly, serving a mission has been the best decision I've ever made. I've truly become closer to my Lord and Savior, and changed in ways that I didn't think possible. My goal is to go home and to not have anyone be able to recognize me lol. My little short testimony is that I know know my Savior lives, and that He loves every single one of you unconditionally! That's why He gave up His life, so that we could all have eternal life and live to see Him, and our Father in Heaven someday

Manners and respect,
Elder Turnbow
