Hey yall hope yall are having a fantastic week. Mine was about just like any other. We didn't really do anything crazy besides kinda finding, walking between teaching appointments and trying to help people be prepared to be baptized.
The
only funny story I can think of happened in the earlier part of the
week. I've lost probably close to 20 lbs since coming out on my mission
due to walking a ton, not having more disposable money like I did at
home, and overall just better discipline. Anyways my pants were looking a
little goofy and didn't fit properly and in the last week i just
cracked and decided that I couldn't deal with it anymore and it started
pissing me off. Poor Elder Senateur for listen to me complain all the
time. Anyways, there's this nice old lady at the city Square if ya will.
When I say city Square, it's nothing that impressive. Just like a gas
station equivalent and that's about it. Pretty big stuff for my area
being in the middle of the bush. Anyways, this nice old lady is a
seamstress/tailor and was nice enough to tailor my pants for next to
nothing in USD. I think the grand total was equivalent to about $3.50
USD. They were done pretty well and I was pleased with them, especially
for the cost. Anyways, we're walking through the city Square and I'm
wearing my new freshly tailored pants. We have a little bit of extra
time so we decided to go see wah gwan and say hi before we head to our
next appointment. So I head over and start talking to her and I'm
flaunting my new pants a little bit because they actually fit and I
don't have to complain about them being annoyingly big or anything like
that anymore. So I flaunt them to her and her response is "oh dear dose
(pronounced "those", with a "d" in stead of a "th") look sexy pon you"
and proceeds to do a little sarcastic old lady laugh. If you know you
know. My comp and I started dying laughing as well just because it's
probably the last thing we were expecting to hear from her, and we walk
away with a smile on your face. I love how bold Jamaicans are. An
American would never say that to your face lol.
I
also got a nice nap in at the church while it rained hard. We couldn't
do any phone work because we literally had the next 5 days lined up and
setting up lessons past that point is just asking them to fall through,
and other things. That mixes with a couple of other things, this nap
just made the most logical sense for sure
Besides
that, nothing super crazy happened this week. I got my first Jamaican
haircut today and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Definitely
could be better, but ill laugh at it while I can. A pic will definitely
be included, don't don't worry.
Bye yall love you, big up yuhselves
