Mission prep and Zoco

Wah gwan everybody hope you have all had a blessed week. I apologize for getting this email put late so just bare with me please.

Also it's my little brother's Birthday today. Everyone go wish Aaron a happy 16th for me since i won't be able to be there. Love you lots Aaron!!

Now we'll jump right into it. Earlier this week/late last week my comp and I decided that we wanted to teach a little mission prep class for some of the youth/young adults in the branch. We talked a lot about common concerns and stuff like that and i hope it helped. I think they opened up decently well and enjoyed themselves enough. We have some dawgs in the branch that I really want to go out and serve the Lord. Send some prayers for Jordane and Joel for me!

We had zone conference this last week as well. It was in Montego Bay. That was my last area that I was in for like 2 weeks before I got transferred to my current area (which is Hopeton for the like 2 of you that read these and care). It was nice to go back and see all the beautiful scenery on the drive that I've been missing out on. It was also a fire zone conference that got me fired up to keep moving forward and become the best that I can be. I have lots of friends in the zone, so it was nice to see all their cute, shining, and beautiful faces in person again.

Spiritual thought for the night. A little while ago, I was talking to our branch president and just his experience in his conversion and stuff like that. He got baptized into the church in 1984. The mission was founded in 1985, which basically means that there were not very many missionaries here at that point. Him and a couple of other people literally built the church on their back. From less than 10 people, to the hundreds and thousands of people that are currently on church records. In this current time, there weren't any chapels. He literally held church in his house every week for a couple of years. In these current times as well, people of color weren't allowed to hold the priesthood (God's power and authority to act in His name), and because of that, they didn't have the proper power and authority to bless the sacrament and renew their baptismal covenants. They could only partake of it when the few missionaries that were on the island would come blessnit for them. Now, I know this can cause a debate and i don't want that. Just listen to his words. "All of this didn't matter, because the Church was true". All the trials and racism and everything just didn't matter, because the Church was true. Joseph Smith restored Christ's true church to the Earth in these latter days, and let's God have all the glory. There's a reason that I'm out here. Its to share this truth. I encourage all of you that are members to think about how blessed you are to be apart of His church and partake of His sacrament each week. If you're not a member (or not active), I encourage you to reach out to the people around you to help you learn (or relearn) about This Gospel. This Gospel changes lives. This Gospel makes people happier. I can testify of this personally. I'm not the same person who left good ol Herriman Utah 7 months ago. It's because of Him and His true Gospel, His true Church.

I love yall, email me back, take care!!
