Hola mis amigos como estan? I hope yall are doing absolutely fantastic and that everything is sunshine and rainbows and everything in between. It's been a week that's for sure so we'll get right into the highlights
-a lot of our friends are really starting to bug me. Who knew that Christlike love was so important?
-District p-day was last week, it was hype. We all went to kingston and chilled. However, it required me to wake up at 5:30am to get there in time and drive back before proselyting hours. However, the chapel we had it at has the mission office in the 1st floor, and we didn't clean it up all the way to Presidents standard, so we can't have it next transfer. Lowkey not complaining though. Waking up at 5:30 sucks, especially on P-day.
- got chastised for not cleaning the truck. We got it cleaned and by the time we got home it looked pretty close to the way it was before
- drove for way too many hours this week. Probably got close to 25-30 hours in
- went on an exchange with Elder Moody. Some abominable things went down that I've been sworn to secrecy on. Don't worry, they were within standards still. He's a dawg though. He's from Gilbert Arizona. I served around him my first transfer out and he's changed a lot since then. It's crazy to see it!
- people can't remember when our appointments are, so lots of scrambled days
-taught a lesson with probably one of the most intelligent people I've ever taught. Her names Nickaylia. She was asking valid questions that no one else has ever even thought about asking me before. Definitely an eye opener about how I can improve
-went to Kingston to do a baptismal interview. The kids name is Caden and he's 11 years old. He's super funny and has got a solid testimony! My favorite part was his Closing prayer. He said something along the lines of "thank you for the Mormons for teaching me, thank you for the Mormons for helping me learn about you, etc etc"
-President came out here this week for church and also for interviews. He was up there after church preaching to all them like a Baptist priest almost. We had like 3 people come to church (which is unheard of here) and he was like "you're gonna get baptized and you're gonna get baptized and you're gonna get baptized, and you're gonna be his friend, and you're gonna be his friend, and you're gonna be his friend" they were all loving it and were so motivated to go out and do good. President is awesome. I also had the best interview I've ever had with him. Usually he kinda rambles on about nonsense for an hour or so, but he was actually very good about being to the point and I actually learned a couple things from him
-we got transfer news and Elder Ferry and I will be staying another transfer here in Dalvey. We will actually be the last missionaries to be here in this area. They're planning on moving the group after this next transfer. I also have like a zone for my district now. There's at least 8 companionship, including us, with the possibility of having a couple more added. I don't know how I'm supposed to do that many exchanges in 6 weeks with all the driving I need to do.
Spiritual thought:
I really enjoyed reading in Phillipians this week in Come, follow me. It talks a lot about relying on Christ and how everything is good when we rely on Him in everything that we do. It's kinda interesting how the apostle Paul wrote all of this while he's literally in jail, probably getting no/little food and water, no bathroom, and probably in a pit too. Everything's okay, when you rely on Christ and make it okay!!
Love you all. Shoot me an email and let me know wah gwan with yall.
Likl more,
Elder Turnbow
