Wah gwan wah ya deya pon yuh good? Mi deya
I hope you all are having a fantastic week. I would like to apologize for the lack of enthusiasm in my emails the last couple of weeks. Writing emails every week is becoming way harder than I ever thought it would. When I was back home and people didn't write emails I always thought they were lazy and dumb. However now that I'm a lazy and dumb missionary that struggles to write a weekly email, I don't blame them too much. Also, if nothing in this email makes sense, it's because it doesn't. I don't even know what I write half the time for my emails anymore, I just know that they're written.
I went on an exchange with a guy named Elder Asay, he's from Lehi Utah and he's pretty cool. For all my missionaries out there, ya know those days where the day you have planned out is the most thrown together last minute thing ever that could completely fall apart on you at any given moment and then you have absolutely nothing to do all day? This exchange was one of those days. Somehow by the grace of God, and the grace of God only, we were able to have a good day. We were somehow able to stay productive all day, and it ended up being pretty good. I learned a lot about Elder Asay and how to become a better missionary and I definitely hope I can apply some of the things I learned from him.
Conference was this weekend! Which for me meant I had an unholy amount of driving to do. Since my area doesn't have a church or anything nearby, we didn't have anywhere to watch conference. The closest building was a 2 hour drive away that my comp and I took in the morning and evening on Saturday and Sunday to be able to watch conference. We watched it with a couple of other Elders and we had a good time watching while consuming an absurd amount of oreo and butterkist cookies. Nothing that will help you feel the spirit more that's for sure. We also played a lot of rounds of skip-bo in between sessions because there's not a lot that you can do with your extra hours. Skip-bo Is quite possibly one of the most frustrating games, but it's so much fun and so worth all the pain and anguish
Spiritual thought:
One of the things I liked a lot about this conference was the big focus on keeping on the covenant path and all the blessings that come from it. Staying on the covenant path is literally so worth it. Being able to show our Father in Heaven that we love him by following his commandments literally brings so much joy and happiness into our lives, and I've seen it in mine. Nothing has made me happier in life than this gospel and there's nothing I'd rather be doing than sharing that with everyone around me. Keeping commandments is worth it!! Making and keep covenants is worth it!!
Love yall, big up,
Elder Turnbow
