Wah apm. This week has been entirely and completely exhausting. I couldn't even tell yall why. Well, that's not true. I have some ideas, but they just don't make sense in my head so I'll just get into di highlights bredda
- spent the night with the Yallahs Elders like 3 times this week. Too many games of skip-bo went down, and crazy convos for sure. The saying about men's intelligence correlating to the amount of men there is completely true.
-getting more and more used to cup showers #2cupgang
- went on 2 exchanges, both of them were in Boulevard. My dear companion, Elder Ferry, spent basically an entire week out of the area this transfer. Boulevard is a part of Kingston and is about a 3 hour drive each way, so I ended up driving there like 3 times this last week. I have no intentions on doing that again. I went with Elder Libanio, from Sáo Paulo area of Brazil, as well as Elder Hall from somewhere in Oregon that I can't completely remember where. They're both dogs and I had a good time with them. Exchanges drain the freak out of you though, so tha probably contributed to my death this week
- One of our members nephews is here from Canada for a couple of months. He had some different views on everything, and we had a really good discussion about everything. I'm really glad that I put in the effort to learn the Bible a lot more recently. It's really helped me to help others understand everything a lot better. Everyone here worships the Bible almost as much as our Heavenly Father. Its been very useful to show our points with their own Bible to help guide them to the truth of the things we teach. The lesson itself wasn't too contentious, but he said he was going to make a few calls so he would be ready for us next time. There's probably going to be a lot of contention next time.
- went over to Mama Pat's house and had a really good time. We talked to her about why she really joined the church. Before this lesson I didn't think too highly of her. She seemed borderline unaccountable and seemed like just another number for a guy to achieve. But after hearing her bear her testimony of the Church and the feelings of the Holy Ghost teaching her the truth of everything, it made me realize that even though everyone isn't blessed with the same education as I am, our Father in Heaven loves them just as much as He loves me. He's willing to show them His love, just as much as He's willing to show it to me
- did a likkle exploring in some areas I haven't really explored yet. Met a couple of cool people. Its pretty impressive how nice of houses they can get out here in the middle of the bush
- we found out news about the group here in Dalvey. It was originally supposed to be moved to Morant Bay, which is a hour or so away. But nothing is set up for it yet, and it's supposed to open in 2 weeks. President announced that the members here will have to travel to Yallahs, which Is a 2 hour car ride, and even longer taxi ride. Please be keeping the saints here in your prayers so that they can get to church more accessible.
Spiritual thought:
The Authority of Jesus Christ is real in this Church. I've been having a lot of lessons about it recently and it's been cool to explain it to everyone. I already had a testimony of it, but seeing all the evidence of it in the Bible makes it even more convincing and powerful to me.
Love yall big up yuhselves,
Elder Turnbow
