Busy

yo wah gwan mi generals. I hope yall are having a fantastic monday afternoon and that everyone is alive and well.

This week was honestly really good. We switched up a couple of things in the area and we definitely reaped some fruits. We decided that we really wanted to focus on getting people to church, since one can't be baptized unless they come and worship at least 2 times. A service missionary (i think is what he was) thats like 60 years old had a meeting with us a couple weeks ago about how to find and seeking out people that will actually show up to teach so that you're teaching actually decent people that are willing to keep the commitments that will truly lead to conversion.

Because of this, we were able to have 7 of our friends pull up to church, which is the most for this transfer. They all have a pretty good chance of progressing as well. 2 of them are already on date and are on track to hit them. The zone has a whole has really popped off this week as well. All our of KI's that we can really control had 6 week highs.

Transfer news also dropped last night, and I will be leaving May Pen to go to Spanish Town. Its kinda sad because I've reallly enjoyed my time here. The branch is phenomenal and a lot of the members here are people that I'll probably look up to as role models for the rest of my life. It's crazy to see how the gospel of Jesus Christ can really change the people that are prepared to receive it and act upon it. Spanish Town will be cool though. I'll be a District Leader again over there so I'll have a car and I'm excited to use it to it's full potential. Spanish town is definitely like top 3 sketchiest areas in the mission, so It'll be fun. My companion got spit on last time he went there so hopefully I can make it out without any  of that happening to me. My companion will be Elder Finau. He's straight from the island of Tonga and has only been in Jamaica for 3 months so it'll definitely be a fun change.

Other highlights:
- Learning how to fight Muay Thai with Elder McBride. He's getting the smoke today
- Had In-person district Council in Old Harbour. nothing crazy, just fun to see other missionaries
- Bro Shawn Miller. Nothing in particular but he's really good at letting us know that we're appreciated for everything we do for him. I'm excited for him to baptize his son in a couple weeks
- Had a lesson about prophets and the BoM with a family. It's crazy how strong the spirit is in lessons like those.
-Went on a wild goose chase for our boy Damane. He was supposed to get baptized this last week, but he went MIA so he threw off our schedule of teaching him. We got him later though and now has a new date:)
- bought hoodie shirts from Brother Ferrari
- wringed my garments clean from a friend that has been taught for like 8 months. The Lord will prepare her for another time.

Sprititual thought:
I've been studying the marriage and families principle in Preach my Gospel a lot this week since we have a couple of families that we're teaching. I thought I knew wah gwan with this topic, but apparently not. I'm so very grateful for my parents that fulfilled their roles as parents to nurture me in the gospel. Even though I haven't been the best at following their counsel, it worked out decent for me in the end. I hope that I'll be able to follow their example, and teach how to be an example for the rest of my life. Gospel centered homes are fundamental and essential!!

Yah mon,
Elder Turnbow
