Pretty average week. Started off slow but then picked up pretty well towards the end. A lot of the cool progressing people that we've been teaching in weeks past started to stop progressing this last week. We definitely had some tender mercies from the Lord to keep us up and running.
Highlights:
- Had 7 unique people come to church this last week (1st time comers)
- Had an exchange with Elder Hall
- Had the Famous Portland Jerk Chicken
- Decided to take the scenic route home from Portland to end an said exchange. Google maps said it would only be like 30 min longer, and it ended up being an hour and a half longer. We drove through one of my old areas in the bush that I never thought I'd see again since I closed it. Probably would be okay never seeing it again though
Spiritual thought:
I was studying temple covenants this last week, and spent most of it on the Law of Chastity. What's really cool about this covenant is that we get a lot of blessings that come directly from keeping ourselves pure, but we get probably just as many, if not more from learning how to abstain from serious temptation like that. Keeping ourselves virtuous and chaste in every single thought, word, and action is probably one of the hardest things anyone could ever do. If one could learn how to do that, the rest of the temptations that Satan could throw at us are lowkey cake walks.
