Solid Week

Pretty solid week. We got to do a lot of missionary work and not a whole lot of office things. It's kinda nice not having to worry about all that stuff, but sometimes I just feel like I have something to do when I don't. We had some days where a lot of things fell through and we just visited members all day. I don't like those days because I just feel unproductive. I've never served a stateside mission but I'd imagine that's what it feels like. Not to dog on others but I'm just grateful

Highlights:
- We have am interesting situation with 2 of our friends. It's a man and woman that live together. They told us originally like 4 weeks ago that they were siblings, which would've made our lives a whole lot easier. We went over to teach the Law of Chastity and Word of Wisdom and they're like acting cuddly. Kinda weird for siblings. We ask wah gwan. They say they're actually dating. Kinda weird. They were a member referral to and the member didn't know that they weren't siblings. We reminded them about church Sunday morning over text and they start going off about how it's such an ungodly church and how the member is wicked and ungodly. It isn't the way I'd personally use to describe the member, but okay. We have some fun times this week

- we had zoom MLC. President has some really good visions for the mission, we just don't know how to accomplish it fully. We're still kind of in the guinea pig phase so hopefully we'll get it figured out soon.

- Our recent convert, Bro Veron Sutherland has been coming out and teaching with us basically every single day. He's a 70 year old rasta that used to smoke literally constantly "there was not a time when me not have spliff in mi mout. Me always have smoke"  it's crazy to see how the Atonement has changed him. He's also been having some funny jokes here and there. When someone isn't ready for the Gospel he talks abouts how water can't run uphill. Or when we joke about  him  marrying lady from the branch he was silent for 30 seconds and goes, "haha I heard that"

- had Departing dinners for some solid missionaries. I was comps with 2/3 Elders leaving and it's sad right see them go. My time is lowkey coming soon

Spiritual thought:
Recently the sabbath day has been on my mind and how important it is that we keep it holy and go to church to partake of the sacrament. In Jamaica, a lot of members/friends don't go to church for a lot of dumb, and honestly childish, reasons. We've had some good discussions with members in the last week about church is a place where we go to be healed and try to be perfected by Christs Atonement. We don't go to hold a calling, or to teach sunday school, or even to socialize. Those are all perks but it shouldn't be why we wake up on a Sunday morning to go. The Savior has to be the center of it all.
